Derek Named 2009 Southern California Section PGA Teacher of the Year
After receiving the award as the 2008 San Diego Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year, Derek was nominated for the Southern California Section PGA Teacher of the Year. Following a long and arduous review process, Derek was chosen as this year's winner!
This is an incredible accomplishment, as the Southern California Section of the PGA is the largest section in the Country. As the 2009 SCPGA Teacher of the Year, Derek was recognized as a leader and innovator in golf instruction. He will accept his award and be honored with the rest of the 2009 SCPGA award winners during the annual SCPGA dinner in December.
Once again, Derek thanks all of his students, peers and mentors for their role in this accomplishment. Without their support and encouragement this would not have been possible. Derek is now nominated for the 2010 National PGA Teacher of the Year.
